A quick and easy party appetizer featuring little smokies wrapped in bacon and glazed with a sweet and smoky brown sugar BBQ sauce. Perfect for game nights and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound little smokies sausages (cocktail-sized)
  • 8 to 10 strips bacon (thin or regular cut)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Toothpicks for securing bacon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, BBQ sauce, honey, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Stir until smooth.
  3. Cut each bacon slice into halves or thirds depending on length. Wrap each little smokie with one piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  4. Place the bacon-wrapped smokies seam side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each generously with the brown sugar glaze.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, turning and brushing with more glaze halfway through (around 12 minutes). Watch carefully during the last 5 minutes to avoid burning.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before serving.

Notes

Use thin bacon slices for crispiness. Brush glaze in two stages to prevent burning. Partially cooking bacon before wrapping can help with crispness. Let rest before serving to set glaze. For gluten-free, use gluten-free BBQ sauce and check smokies. Turkey bacon or vegetarian sausages can be used for dietary adaptations.
