Quick and easy pizza bagel bites perfect for an after school snack. These cheesy, kid-approved bites come together in about 20 minutes and are customizable with various toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 small or 2 large plain bagels, sliced in half
  • ½ cup (120 ml) pizza sauce
  • 1 ½ cups (150 g) shredded mozzarella cheese, freshly shredded
  • 2025 pepperoni slices (optional)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Slice bagels in half horizontally. If using large bagels, cut each half into quarters for bite-sized pieces. Place on a baking sheet, cut side up. Brush cut sides lightly with olive oil.
  2. In a small bowl, stir together pizza sauce with dried oregano or Italian seasoning. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
  3. Spoon a generous tablespoon of sauce mixture onto each bagel half. Spread evenly without overloading. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly over the top. Add pepperoni slices or chosen toppings last.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 8 to 10 minutes until cheese is melted, bubbly, and starting to brown, and bagels feel crisp.
  5. Let cool for 2 minutes on the baking sheet before serving warm.

Notes

Use plain bagels for best texture; avoid watery pasta sauces to prevent sogginess. Freshly shred mozzarella for better melting. Brush olive oil on bagels before baking for crispiness. Customize toppings as desired. Store leftovers in airtight container up to 3 days; reheat in oven or toaster oven for best crispness.
