An easy, colorful, and customizable patriotic charcuterie board perfect for Independence Day and other festive gatherings. Combines creamy cheeses, cured meats, fresh berries, and crunchy crackers for a crowd-pleasing centerpiece.

Ingredients

  • Brie cheese, whole wheel
  • Sharp cheddar, sliced
  • Blue cheese crumbles (optional)
  • Salami slices (preferably peppered)
  • Prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • Mini pepperoni rounds
  • Strawberries, hulled and halved
  • Blueberries
  • Red grapes (optional)
  • Rosemary crackers or herb crackers
  • Mini pretzels
  • Mixed nuts like almonds and cashews, lightly toasted
  • Honey, for drizzling
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs
  • Marinated Italian olives
  • Cherry tomatoes, halved (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse fresh fruit and pat dry. Hull and halve the strawberries, and slice cherry tomatoes if using. Slice cheddar into thin rectangles or small cubes. Arrange meats into neat piles or rolled shapes for variety.
  2. Place the Brie wheel in the center or slightly off-center of your board. Surround it with cheddar slices and sprinkle blue cheese crumbles in a small mound. Optionally, score the Brie’s top rind lightly for a rustic look.
  3. Fan out salami slices and prosciutto in small piles or rolls around the cheeses. Scatter mini pepperoni for pops of color. Use tongs to keep things tidy.
  4. Distribute strawberries, blueberries, and grapes around the board, filling in spaces. Group similar colors to make the reds and blues stand out as distinct clusters.
  5. Nestle rosemary crackers and mini pretzels in open spaces. Add small bowls with toasted nuts and marinated olives to break up the texture and add visual interest.
  6. Drizzle honey in a thin stream over the Brie and some fruit clusters for a hint of sweetness. Garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs for an aromatic finish.

Notes

For best flavor, serve cheeses at room temperature by pulling them out 30 minutes before serving. Keep crackers separate until serving to avoid sogginess. Prepping the night before is possible but add fresh fruit and crackers last minute. Wooden boards require regular oiling for maintenance. For gluten-free, substitute crackers with seeded crisps or sliced cucumbers. For dairy-free, swap cheeses for plant-based alternatives.
