A quick and easy skillet s’mores dip with dark chocolate and toasted marshmallows, perfect for cozy nights and casual gatherings. This homemade dessert brings campfire nostalgia indoors without the mess.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (225 g) dark chocolate chips
  • 2 cups (160 g) mini marshmallows
  • 1 sleeve graham crackers, broken into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp (28 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly butter your 8-inch cast-iron skillet to prevent sticking.
  3. Place the dark chocolate chips and butter in the skillet. Melt in the oven for about 5 minutes, checking every minute, or melt gently on the stovetop over low heat, stirring constantly.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt once melted.
  5. Spread mini marshmallows evenly over the melted chocolate, piling higher in the center for a thick layer.
  6. Return the skillet to the oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, or place under the broiler for 1-3 minutes until marshmallows are golden and toasted. Watch closely to avoid burning.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool for 2 minutes to set slightly but remain warm and gooey.
  8. Serve immediately with graham crackers for dipping.

Notes

Use high-quality dark chocolate for best flavor. Control marshmallow toastiness by broiling carefully or baking longer at 375°F. Buttering the skillet helps prevent sticking and adds richness. If chocolate seizes, stir in a splash of cream or milk off heat. Rotate skillet during broiling for even toasting. Leftovers can be reheated in oven or microwave but marshmallows won’t be as toasty.
