A refreshing, low-calorie frozen strawberry margarita made with frozen strawberries, tequila, fresh lime juice, and agave syrup. Perfect for summer, this easy cocktail is light, flavorful, and quick to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups (225g) frozen strawberries
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) blanco or silver tequila
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) agave syrup
  • 1 cup (240 ml) ice cubes
  • Optional: pinch of sea salt or salted rim

Instructions

  1. Measure out 1 1/2 cups (225g) frozen strawberries, 2 ounces (60 ml) tequila, 1 ounce (30 ml) fresh lime juice, and 1 tablespoon (15 ml) agave syrup.
  2. Place the frozen strawberries, tequila, lime juice, agave syrup, and about 1 cup (240 ml) of ice cubes into the blender pitcher.
  3. Pulse the blender a few times, then blend on high for about 30-45 seconds or until you get a thick, slushy consistency. Adjust consistency by adding water or lime juice if too thick, or more frozen strawberries or ice if too thin.
  4. If desired, rub a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and dip it into coarse salt for a salted rim.
  5. Pour the frozen margarita into prepared glasses and garnish with a fresh strawberry or lime wheel.
  6. Serve immediately to enjoy the icy, frozen texture.

Notes

Use frozen strawberries to achieve a perfect slushy texture without watering down the drink. Fresh lime juice is essential for brightness. Adjust sweetness with agave syrup to taste. Blend in short bursts to avoid overheating the blender. Serve immediately for best texture. For a lower alcohol version, reduce tequila and add sparkling water. Salted rim is optional but adds classic flavor.
