  • 1 box (3 oz) Strawberry Jello
  • 1 box (3 oz) Lime Jello
  • 2 1/2 cups (600 ml) Boiling Water
  • 1 1/2 cups (350 ml) Cold Water
  • 1 1/2 cups (350 ml) Vodka or Flavored Alcohol
  • 1 cup (240 ml) Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the blue raspberry layer: Dissolve 1 box (3 oz) blue raspberry jello powder in 1 cup boiling water. Stir until dissolved (about 2 minutes). Add 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup vodka. Mix gently.
  2. Pour the blue mixture into mini plastic shot cups, filling each about one-third full (roughly 1 oz or 30 ml). Refrigerate for about 45 minutes or until firm but slightly tacky.
  3. Prepare the lime layer: Dissolve 1 box lime jello in 1 cup boiling water. Add 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup vodka. Stir gently.
  4. Pour the lime jello mixture over the blue layer, filling to two-thirds full in each cup. Chill again for about 45 minutes until set and tacky.
  5. Prepare the strawberry layer: Dissolve 1 box strawberry jello in 1 cup boiling water. Add 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup vodka. Stir gently.
  6. Pour the strawberry layer over the lime one, filling each cup to the top. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until fully set.
  7. Whip the cream: Pour 1 cup heavy whipping cream into a chilled bowl. Add 2 tablespoons powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Whisk with an electric mixer or by hand until stiff peaks form (about 3-4 minutes with a mixer).
  8. Pipe the whipped cream stars: Transfer whipped cream into a piping bag fitted with a star tip (or a plastic bag with a small corner cut). Pipe small stars on top of each jello shot just before serving.
  9. Serve and enjoy: Keep refrigerated until party time. Serve cold for best texture and flavor.

Notes

Let each jello layer cool and set until tacky but not fully firm before adding the next to prevent colors from bleeding. Chill mixing bowl and whisk before whipping cream for better results. Pipe whipped cream stars just before serving to keep them fresh and fluffy. Substitute vodka with rum, tequila, or cold water for non-alcoholic versions.
