These fudgy brownies feature gooey peanut butter pockets from Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and a glossy chocolate drizzle, perfect for game day or any last-minute dessert craving.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (50g)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (125g)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (200g)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (113g), melted
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 10 Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, unwrapped and halved
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (90g)
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and salt until well combined.
  3. In a separate large bowl, whisk eggs, melted unsalted butter (cooled slightly), and vanilla extract until smooth and glossy.
  4. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour half the batter into the prepared pan and smooth it out.
  6. Arrange the halved Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, peanut butter side up, evenly over the batter layer.
  7. Spoon the remaining batter over the peanut butter cups, spreading gently to cover them completely.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes at 350°F (175°C). Check at 25 minutes with a toothpick; it should come out with a few moist crumbs but no raw batter.
  9. Remove from oven and cool completely in the pan for at least 30 minutes.
  10. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine semi-sweet chocolate chips and heavy cream. Microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring until smooth and shiny.
  11. Drizzle the chocolate mixture over the cooled brownies using a fork or spoon in a zigzag pattern. Let set at room temperature or chill for 10 minutes.
  12. Cut into football-shaped pieces or squares and serve.

Notes

Do not overmix the batter to keep brownies fudgy. Let the butter cool slightly before mixing with eggs to avoid curdling. Start checking brownies at 25 minutes to avoid overbaking. For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free baking blend. Chocolate drizzle can be adjusted for thickness by adding more cream or chocolate chips. Cooling brownies completely before drizzling chocolate helps achieve a prettier finish.
