A simple, indulgent chocolate fondue recipe perfect for girls’ night, featuring smooth melted chocolate with fresh fruit and fudgy brownie dippers. Easy to prepare and perfect for sharing warm, cozy moments.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate, chopped (preferably 60% cocoa)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt
  • Optional: 1 tbsp liqueur like Grand Marnier or Kahlúa
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 2 apples, thinly sliced (Gala or Honeycrisp preferred)
  • 1 bunch seedless grapes (green or red)
  • 1 banana, sliced into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 batch homemade or store-bought brownies, cut into 1-inch squares
  • Optional: sprinkle of powdered sugar for presentation

Instructions

  1. Prepare your dippers by washing and drying all fruit thoroughly. Hull strawberries, slice apples about 1/4 inch thick, peel and slice banana into bite-sized pieces, and rinse grapes. Cut brownies into 1-inch squares. Arrange attractively on a platter or plates.
  2. In a small saucepan over low heat, warm the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer. Remove from heat and add chopped chocolate. Let sit for 1 minute to soften, then gently stir with a heatproof spatula until smooth.
  3. Add vanilla extract and a pinch of flaky sea salt. If using liqueur, stir it in now. Ensure chocolate is glossy and fluid, not thick or grainy.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate mixture into a fondue pot or heatproof bowl. If using a traditional fondue pot, light the burner underneath to keep chocolate warm. Alternatively, place the bowl over a pot of simmering water to maintain temperature.
  5. Hand out skewers or fondue forks and dip fruit and brownies into the chocolate. If chocolate thickens, gently reheat by stirring over low heat or adding a splash of warm cream.
  6. After enjoying, soak the fondue pot or bowl in warm soapy water for easy cleaning.

Notes

Use good-quality chocolate with 60-70% cocoa for best flavor and smooth melting. Avoid boiling cream to prevent scorching chocolate. Keep fondue warm over low heat or a fondue burner and stir occasionally. Dry fruit well before dipping to help chocolate stick. For dairy-free, substitute heavy cream with full-fat coconut milk. For gluten-free, use almond flour-based brownies or check labels on store-bought brownies.
