  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Peel and grate the apple using a box grater. Finely chop or grate the onion. Mince the garlic cloves.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, grated apple, onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, sage, black pepper, and salt. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  3. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each into a patty about 1/2 inch thick.
  4. Place a skillet over medium heat and add about 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Allow the oil to heat up until it shimmers.
  5. Add the patties to the skillet in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should read 165Β°F (74Β°C).
  6. Once cooked, transfer the patties to a plate lined with paper towels to remove any excess oil.
