A sweet and savory salmon recipe featuring fresh orange juice and teriyaki glaze, perfect for a quick and healthy dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 oz salmon fillets, fresh or frozen, skin on
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare the glaze: In a small saucepan, combine 1/4 cup fresh orange juice, 1 tablespoon orange zest, 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons honey, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger, and 1 teaspoon sesame oil.
  3. Heat the glaze over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Once it starts to simmer, mix 1 teaspoon cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water to create a slurry, then whisk it into the saucepan. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the glaze thickens slightly. Remove from heat and let it cool for a minute.
  4. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet, skin-side down. Brush or spoon the orange teriyaki glaze generously over each fillet.
  5. Bake the salmon for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. If you like a caramelized finish, switch to broil mode for the last 2 minutes.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

[‘Make sure all fillets are roughly the same thickness for even cooking.’, ‘Rotate the pan halfway through baking if your oven heats unevenly.’, ‘You can make the glaze a day in advance and refrigerate it until ready to cook.’, ‘For crispy skin, sear the salmon skin-side down in a hot skillet for 2-3 minutes before baking.’]
