Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs fresh turkey wings, cleaned and patted dry
  • 3 tbsp white or yellow miso
  • 4 tbsp pure honey
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds, for garnish
  • 2 scallions, thinly sliced, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Place a wire rack on a baking sheet and lightly grease it.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together miso paste, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, sesame oil, and ginger until smooth.
  3. Pat the turkey wings dry with paper towels, then lightly season them with salt and pepper.
  4. Using a silicone brush, generously coat the turkey wings with the miso-honey glaze on both sides.
  5. Arrange the wings on the wire rack and bake for 40 minutes, flipping halfway through. Brush more glaze on the wings after flipping.
  6. During the last 5 minutes of baking, sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the wings.
  7. Remove the wings from the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes. Garnish with scallions and additional sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

[‘Don’t skip the wire rack; it ensures crispy wings without frying.’, ‘Apply the glaze multiple times while baking for a thicker, stickier coating.’, ‘Toast sesame seeds for a nuttier flavor.’, ‘Keep a close eye on the wings if broiling to avoid burning the glaze.’, ‘The glaze can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.’]
