Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 4 cups of apple cider, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, and 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
  2. Pour the mixture into a shallow baking dish. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the freezer for 1 hour.
  3. After an hour, use a fork to scrape the partially frozen mixture into icy flakes. Return to the freezer for another hour.
  4. Continue scraping the granita every hour for 3-4 hours, or until the entire mixture is transformed into light, fluffy ice crystals.
  5. Scoop the granita into serving dishes and garnish with fresh mint leaves or a sprinkle of cinnamon, if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
