Flavorful Zesty Buffalo Party Bowl with Chili Crisp and Honey

A quick and easy buffalo bowl combining spicy buffalo sauce, sweet honey, and crunchy chili crisp for a crowd-pleasing, flavorful meal perfect for parties or casual get-togethers.

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 3 cups shredded cooked chicken or cubed crispy tofu
  • 2 cups cooked rice or quinoa
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 medium carrots, peeled into ribbons or shredded
  • 3 scallions, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup blue cheese crumbles or vegan alternative (optional)
  • 3 tablespoons chili crisp oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey (for drizzle)

Instructions

  1. Cook 2 cups (370g) of rice or quinoa according to package instructions (about 15-20 minutes). Fluff and set aside to cool slightly.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together ½ cup (120ml) hot sauce, 4 tablespoons (57g) melted unsalted butter, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, and 1 tablespoon honey until smooth.
  3. In a large bowl, add 3 cups (about 450g) shredded cooked chicken or cubed crispy tofu. Pour the buffalo sauce over and toss gently but thoroughly to coat evenly.
  4. Chop 2 stalks celery finely, peel and ribbon 2 medium carrots, and slice 3 scallions thinly. Set aside.
  5. In a small bowl, combine 3 tablespoons chili crisp oil with 2 tablespoons honey and stir until blended.
  6. In serving bowls or a large platter, spread the cooked rice or quinoa as the base layer. Layer the buffalo-coated chicken or tofu on top.
  7. Scatter the celery, carrots, and scallions over the top.
  8. Sprinkle ½ cup (75g) blue cheese crumbles or vegan alternative if using.
  9. Drizzle the chili crisp honey mixture over everything.
  10. Let the bowl rest for 5 minutes to allow flavors to meld. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

If buffalo sauce is too thick, add a splash of water or more melted butter to loosen. Be gentle when tossing protein to keep chicken tender. Adjust chili crisp honey drizzle to taste. Use vegan butter and cheese for dairy-free version. Press tofu overnight for best texture. Leftovers keep well for 3 days refrigerated; reheat gently with a splash of water.
