A quick and easy snack featuring thinly sliced apples topped with warm creamy peanut butter and a rich chocolate drizzle, perfect for a sweet yet light treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium-sized apples (preferably Honeycrisp or Fuji)
  • 1/2 cup natural creamy peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips (60-70% cocoa)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons chopped toasted nuts (optional, peanuts or almonds)
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice the apples into thin, even slices about 1/8 inch thick, removing the core.
  2. Arrange the apple slices evenly on a large serving plate or baking sheet, overlapping slightly.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine peanut butter and honey. Warm in 20-second bursts, stirring until smooth and pourable (about 1 minute). Alternatively, warm gently over low heat in a saucepan.
  4. Melt the dark chocolate chips in a separate microwave-safe bowl in 15-second increments, stirring until glossy and smooth. Alternatively, melt over a double boiler on low heat.
  5. Drizzle the warm peanut butter mixture evenly over the apple slices, followed by a gentle drizzle of melted chocolate.
  6. Sprinkle sea salt, cinnamon (if using), and chopped toasted nuts over the top.
  7. Serve immediately while the peanut butter is warm and the chocolate is glossy. Refrigerate up to 1 hour if needed.

Notes

If peanut butter thickens, warm it briefly to loosen. If chocolate seizes, add a splash of coconut oil or milk to smooth it. Slice apples thinly for best texture. Use natural peanut butter for smoother warming. Can substitute almond or sunflower seed butter for allergies. Serve immediately for best texture.
