These adorable brownies are fun to make, visually stunning, and ridiculously delicious. Perfect for holiday parties, gifting, or enjoying with hot cocoa by the tree.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (220 g) brown sugar, packed
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup (90 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Fresh strawberries, washed and hulled
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold this mixture into the wet ingredients until well combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs. Let the brownies cool completely before cutting them into small squares.
  5. In a chilled mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Be sure not to over-whip, as it can turn into butter.
  6. Once the brownies are cooled, use a piping bag to add a dollop of whipped cream on top of each square. Place a hulled strawberry on each dollop, pointed side up. Add a tiny dot of whipped cream to the tip of each strawberry to create the Santa hat effect.
