Instructions

  1. Slice 3 large ripe bananas into 1/2-inch pieces and freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Peel and segment 2 medium fresh oranges over a bowl to catch juice, remove seeds, and toss with 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice. Set aside.
  3. Add frozen banana slices, 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 tablespoon honey (if using) to a high-speed blender or food processor.
  4. Blend on high speed, pausing every 30 seconds to scrape down the sides, until smooth and creamy (about 3-5 minutes).
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness with more honey or maple syrup if desired; add a splash more almond milk if a thinner consistency is preferred.
  6. Spoon the nice cream into serving bowls or glasses and top generously with fresh orange segments and juice.
  7. Add optional garnishes: chopped toasted nuts, fresh mint leaves, and a sprinkle of cinnamon or cocoa powder.
  8. Serve immediately for best texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 days and let soften at room temperature for 10-15 minutes before serving again.
