Ingredients

Scale
  • 56 medium Granny Smith apples (about 3 cups), cored and chopped
  • 1 cup cold heavy whipping cream
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 5 Snickers bars (about 9 oz), chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped roasted peanuts (optional)
  • Additional caramel sauce for drizzling (optional)
  • Splash of lemon juice (for apples)

Instructions

  1. Wash, core, and chop the apples into bite-sized cubes. Toss with a splash of lemon juice to prevent browning.
  2. Using an electric mixer, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  3. Pour in the heavy whipping cream and whip together until soft peaks form (2–3 minutes).
  4. Add whipped topping and gently fold with a spatula until just combined.
  5. Slice Snickers bars into rough chunks (about 1cm cubes).
  6. In a large mixing bowl, add chopped apples, Snickers pieces, and optional mix-ins (mini marshmallows and chopped peanuts).
  7. Pour the creamy base over and gently fold everything together until evenly coated.
  8. Drizzle caramel sauce over the salad and swirl through the mixture with a spatula or spoon—do not fully blend.
  9. Transfer to a serving bowl or trifle dish. Top with extra caramel, marshmallows, or peanuts if desired.
  10. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, use tart apples like Granny Smith for crunch and balance. Chill the salad before serving to meld flavors and set texture. Swirl, don’t stir, the caramel for beautiful ribbons. If making ahead, add apples and caramel just before serving. For gluten-free or vegan adaptations, use appropriate candy bars and dairy-free substitutes. Chop apples last to keep them crisp.
