Creamy Cilantro Lime Crema Recipe – Easy Sauce for Toppings

A quick and easy creamy cilantro lime sauce perfect for tacos, burrito bowls, grilled veggies, or as a dip for tortilla chips.

  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro, stems removed
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt as a substitute)
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 small jalapeño, deseeded and chopped (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the cilantro. Remove the stems and roughly chop the leaves. Mince the garlic and deseed the jalapeño if using.
  2. Combine the cilantro, lime juice, sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic, jalapeño, salt, and olive oil in a blender or food processor.
  3. Blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides as needed to ensure everything is incorporated.
  4. Taste the crema and adjust the seasoning. Add more salt, lime juice, or jalapeño if needed.
  5. Transfer the crema to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  6. Serve chilled as a topping or dip. Enjoy!
