A quick and easy comfort food dish featuring savory beef, tender pasta shells, and a creamy, cheesy sauce that’s perfect for busy weeknights or leisurely weekends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Medium-sized pasta shells
  • Lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil the pasta shells in a large pot of salted water according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the tomato sauce and beef broth, then sprinkle in the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and let simmer for 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Let it simmer gently for 2 minutes, then add the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
  6. Add the cooked pasta shells to the skillet and toss to coat them evenly in the sauce. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes, letting the shells soak up the creamy goodness.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with freshly chopped parsley or a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese, if desired.

Notes

[‘Season as you go to ensure the flavors are just right.’, ‘Cook the pasta just until al dente to avoid overcooking.’, ‘Grate your own cheese for a smoother texture.’, ‘Add vegetables like zucchini or spinach for extra nutrition.’]
