A creamy, cheesy slow-cooked chicken dish with ranch seasoning and crispy bacon, perfect for easy, comforting meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) ranch seasoning mix
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: chopped green onions or chives for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crisp, about 6-8 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and crumble once cooled.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, ranch seasoning, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  3. Place chicken breasts into the bottom of the slow cooker. Spread the ranch-cream cheese mixture evenly over the chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 4 hours or HIGH for 2 hours until chicken is tender and easily shreddable.
  5. Remove chicken breasts and shred using two forks. Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir to combine with the sauce.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon over the chicken mixture. Stir gently to distribute.
  7. Cover and cook for an additional 15-20 minutes on LOW until cheese melts and everything is heated through.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions or chives if desired. Serve warm over rice, pasta, or on toasted buns.

Notes

If sauce is too thick after shredding, stir in a splash of milk or chicken broth to loosen. Avoid overcooking to keep chicken juicy. Use thick-cut bacon for better texture. Softening cream cheese before mixing ensures a smooth sauce.
